Finding Doctor/Rose is a place to find and rec all kinds of Doctor/Rose focused fanworks. So whether you've lost the link to your favorite Nine/Rose fanfic, looking for happy Five/Rose fanvids, or seen a fabulous Ten/Rose/Master drawing or essay you want to share, this is the place! |
| Rules/Guidelines | Please read the following guidelines before you post! Mods reserve the rights to freeze or delete posts (with warning) that don't follow the rules. 1. This is a comm focused on the Doctor/Rose relationship, friendly or shippy, so please make sure your posts reflect this focus. So if you're, say, looking for that brilliant epic Doctor/K9 fic where Rose is discussed in chapter 19, this is not the place. That being said, other background pairings in the fanwork and fanworks focused on OT3s/moresomes where the Doctor and Rose are both active participants are fine. 2. This comm is for reccing and finding, and related discussion.No posting of fanworks themselves, no posting asking for people to create stuff for you, and no unsolicited self promotion*.There are comms for that! * The key word is unsolicited- So, if someone posted looking for Eight/Rose icons, it's fine to respond reccing your own art, but please no posts along the lines of "Hey, look at this awesome art I just made!" 3. No bashing characters, actors, or ships. Ever. (This includes Doctors.) No requesting bashing fanworks. Again, there are comms for that. If you can't phrase your request in a way that is objective, you're doing something wrong. If you're not sure if your post contains bashing, please ask a mod and they will help you out. Here are some examples of good and bad ways to make a request: No: "I'm looking for fic where Rose dumps that evil clone like he deserves and is reunited with the REAL Doctor!" "Anyone have any recs where Rose shows that bitch (other character) that the Doctor is really HER true and only love?" Yes: "Anyone have any recs for post Journey's End fic where Rose is reunited with the original 10th Doctor?" "I'm looking for fic where there is friction between Rose and (other character) over the Doctor." 4. Be nice, in your posts and comments. Spell-check your posts. Use an LJ-cut for anything long, anything containing spoilers for the newest season (7), containing triggers, or adult-rated/NSFW. Disagreeing with recs or critiquing discussed fanworks is fine, just keep comments polite (NO: "This sucks!")/constructive (YES: "X isn't my favorite for Y reasons, but I did like Z."/in line with the spirit of the post (No one wants or needs a 4 page essay on why you hate their favorite fanwork on their rec post.). Don't pick fights with, flame or dogpile other members. No 'isms or 'obias. In short, don't be a jerk. 5. If you are searching or reccing, please use the following subject line (in quotes) for your post: "Search: (fanart type), (description of fanart)" "Rec: (fanart type), (details of fanart)" Example:"Rec: Fanart, Nine and Rose baking cookies at Jackie's" It will make it *much* easier for mods to keep master posts updated! 6. Please tag your posts and provide rec info, if you so desire! This really helps other members find what they're looking for. Please note that mods may tag your posts after you make them. We're starting out with pretty basic tags- if there's a tag you want that doesn't exist, please use the "NEW TAG PLEASE" tag and let us know what tag you want created. Info to consider including in a rec post: Title: Creator: Rating: Genre: Short Summary: Notes: 7. Please use a "Notes" section on rec posts/replies to add info on things people might want to know (positive or negative), and to provide warnings for common triggers (i.e. non/dub con, heavy violence/torture, abuse, self-harm, suicide, incest, character death, etc.) Note: content that readers might want to know about but is not triggering can also go in this section, but don't use the term "warn" for non triggering content. Your :( can be someone else's :) ! If you want to provide information that might also be a spoiler for the fanwork in a POST, you can cut and paste the following html text below (in italics) into your POST: Spoiler Warning: (<a title="Skip this Warning" href="#skip">skip</a>) <span title="This is a warning that is also a spoiler. Highlight to read." style="color:#000000;background-color:#000000;">Warning text goes here.</span> <a name="skip"></a> If you want to provide information that might also be a spoiler for the fanwork in a COMMENT, you can cut and paste the following html text below (in italics) into your COMMENT: Spoiler Warning: This is a warning that is also a spoiler. | Questions and Answers | Q: I want to know what everyone's general, all time favorite Doctor/Rose fics are! A: We will have a thread for that! It's not live yet, but we will have a dedicated post for all time favorite fics/links to reclists/links to del.icio.us links, that will be linked here. Q: How can I find if someone already posted a similar request? A: Try browsing through the tag links if you're looking for something specific- a list of all the tags and explanations of them is available here. We will also have a master post listing subjects of all recs and searches, which is not live yet, but will be linked here. Q: What counts as fanwork? A: Basically, anything made by fans. Right now the categories we have listed are cosplay, crafts, fanart, fanfic, fanvids, and meta but if we're missing something, let us know. Q: What are other Doctor/Rose resources on LJ?
